Yeah - I just don't think that separation of powers includes publicly scolding the SCOTUS during the SOTU address. Something about that just doesn't seem right. I just can't see Chief Justice John Roberts publicly scolding the SOTUS or the POTUS.
There is sort of a lack of dignity in that. Presidents have frequently disagreed with the court's decisions and it is one thing to express disappointment or disagreement in a briefing or press conference. But in the SOTU address?
I don't get that. But I am not president so I guess it doesn't really matter, right?
